Fleet Captain Application Process FAQ
Because we receive many application forms and many inquiries about the process, we thought that an FAQ would be in order. If you have a question that does not appear here, please do contact us
What happens when you receive my application?
We carefully review your application form. We look for well-constructed responses to our questions and a good attitude. Disadvantaged applications would include but are not limited to one or more of the following: excess typos, inappropriate character names, obvious lack of knowledge about the FCB, it's charter and methods. If we feel that you have the qualifications and attitude we are looking for, WE will contact YOU and will begin the second part of our application process. Please do not ICQ us regarding your application.
What is the "second part" of the application process?
We will contact you via icq and attempt to get to know you better. We may ask you to join a chat with us. We will also want to come visit your home shard so that we may verify the information you submitted to us. This process may take a few days, it may take a week. After this we will make our decision.
Why does this sound a job application?
A Fleet Captain must be able to fulfill our wishes and sail their Fleet with professionalism and skill. Like customer service representatives, they have the ability to affect player's perceptions of the FCB positively or negatively. We wish the FCB to become as widely known and respected as the UBB is. If that means carefully screening applicants to ensure we choose the best person to represent the FCB on their shard, so be it!
When you ask what resources I have, what are you looking for?
Believe it or not, a house and money to buy a guild stone. Just having a boat is unfortunately not enough.
Do I have to be a Grandmaster Fisher to apply for Fleet Captain?
We prefer it. Your "new" fisher members will tend to look up to you for guidance and advice on fishing, being a Grandmaster and having the experience of "getting there" will help. This does not mean we will not consider applicants with a good attitude and the right resources yet having a low fishing skill.
Do I have to know HTML?
It would help. But if you don't know how to do simple HTML coding and uploading, I can show you what to do :) What we expect of our Captains is to send in regular News, Roster Changes, Applicant Changes, Pictures and Event listings.
First and foremost, Fleet Captain applicants must read the FCB charter and agree to uphold it and abide by its rules if accepted. All fields are required, any applications missing one or more fields will be tossed in the head.
By submitting this form I agree to the following: I have read the FCB's charter and it's rules and regulations. If accepted, I agree to ensure myself and my Fleet operates within the contraints of the Charter and in the true spirit of the FCB. I also accept that the FCB Administrators will over-see all Fleet Captains to ensure the quality and unity of all Shards. I also agree to abide by decisions that the FCB Adminstrators make. I will not advertise or seek out members until approved by the FCB Administrators. I also understand that this application form does not ensure my acceptance as a Fleet Captain.
